Born in 1919 (Mildenhall Q4-1919 4A:1865), son of Ernest William and Elizabeth STEBBEDS (née POWELL), of Mildenhall.

None of the family have been identified on the 1939 register and his Japanese PoW card is not on line, which would have given more information


Reginald was captured at the surrender of Singapore to the Japanese. he died from diptheria. Records give his mother's address as Brandon Road, Mildenhall
The 5th Suffolks fought in Singapore right up to the last moment before the surrender to the Japanese.
He was originally buried in Changi Cemetery C-F-1 and re-interred in Kranji War Cemetery on 25th April 1946
